In fact, the comic book company also undertook the production of a TV series that was meant to tell the story of the Autobots and Decepticons. Both the toys and the show were released around the same time.

The new products quickly proved to be a hit, leading to feature-length animated films and an entire franchise of live-action movies, the first of which, Transformers, hit screens in 2007, and the latest, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, in 2023.

Transformers in Rocket League

As we have already mentioned, Transformers is a series that tells the story of robots that turn into cars. As such, it shares one huge factor with Rocket League, which is, of course, cars.

It was only logical, therefore, that sooner or later these two huge powerhouses of the entertainment world would join forces, and what better occasion than the release of a new movie. And so in June of 2023, to celebrate the arrival of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Epic Games announced its first-ever collaboration with this legendary film franchise.

What Is Inside the Transformers Bundle?

The limited edition Rocket League Transformers Bundle was announced on June 13 and was scheduled to hit the Item Shop a day later, where it would be available for purchase throughout the week. Its contents included the most iconic part of the blockbuster films, the Bumblebee car. However, the vehicle wasn’t the only thing players could get by buying the pack. All the items included in the DLC are:

• Bumblebee Car (Dominus Hitbox)
• Bumblebee Engine Audio
• Bumblebee Wheel
• Optimus Prime Goal Explosion
• Blueprint Bumblebee Player Banner
• Two Transformers-themed Player Titles

The cost of the bundle was 2,500 credits.

In addition, as part of the partnership, players could also purchase:

• Optimus Prime Goal Explosion
• “Transformers Theme” Player Anthem

The items cost 800 and 300 credits, respectively.

Does the New Bumblebee Car Transform in Rocket League?

As soon as news broke of the addition of a new bundle to Rocket League, players wondered: will the Bumblebee vehicle be able to transform into a robot like in the movies?

Well, Epic Games immediately announced that the car will indeed feature a rare animation of the robot mode. However, the developer also indicated that it would not be controllable and would not appear in the arena, only in the Spotlight after the game. Of course, this was met with disappointment by many fans, but at least they would be getting a taste of the real Transformers Experience.
