Fast and Furious and Rocket League: What Do They Have in Common?

Fast and Furious is a franchise beloved around the globe, while Rocket League is one of the most popular video games in gaming history. Both have one main thing in common – cars. This means that if you combine them, you get the ultimate combination, perfect for any driving enthusiast. Therefore, it’s no surprise that they have joined forces more than once at this point! The Fast and Furious DLC packs are some of the most popular releases in the history of RL, and today we will tell you about all of them.

Rocket League Fast and Furious Collaboration

Fast and Furious is an infamous film franchise that has been winning the hearts of car enthusiasts since 2001. To date, nine films have been released, and the tenth is set to arrive in 2023. Given its iconic status in pop culture and immense popularity in the automotive community, it was only a matter of time before the most popular car game would come knocking on the door of The Fast Saga.

The first time this happened was in 2017, when the original Fast and Furious DLC Bundle was released. Unfortunately, despite its huge success, all of the included items were retired before the game went free-to-play in 2019. Users were devastated by this fact, as some of the Fast and Furious cars had become legends in the Rocket League community. Eventually, Epic Games listened to their pleas, and in 2021 Fast and Furious returned to the game in the form of a brand new DLC pack, which was released as part of the promotion of F9, the ninth installment of the franchise.

Fast & Furious DLC Bundle (Legacy) Contents

The original Rocket League Fast Furious bundle was released in November 2017. Players could buy it for a mere price of $4.99 and then enjoy all of its unique content, which included 3 new vehicle bodies:

  • Fast & Furious Ice Dodge Charger
  • Fast & Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R R34
  • Fast & Furious Dodge Charger R/T

Besides that, the pack also included numerous Dodge Charger items, such as:

  • Fast & Furious Dodge Charger Wheels R/T
  • Fast & Furious Dodge Charger R/T Engine Audio
  • Alameda Twin Decal
  • Flames Decal
  • Good Graces Decal
  • Rally Decal
  • Sinclair Decal
  • Wheelman Decal

As well as Nissan Skyline items:

  • Fast & Furious Nissan Skyline Wheels
  • Fast & Furious Nissan Skyline Engine Audio
  • 2Bold Decal
  • 2Cool Decal
  • 2Tuff Decal
  • Clean Cut Decal
  • Home Stretch Decal
  • the Clutch Decal

And Dodge Ice Charger items:

  • Fast & Furious Dodge Ice Charger Wheels
  • Fast & Furious Dodge Ice Charger Engine Audio
  • CDXL Decal
  • Clean Cut Decal
  • Crazy Sandwich Decal
  • Flames Decal
  • Rakugaki Decal
  • Rally Decal

So as you can see it’s pretty incredible what you could get for less than $5 before the game went free-to-play! Unfortunately, as we already mentioned all the items were retired at the end of 2019.

Fast & Furious Bundle

Due to popular demand (and the sheer annoyance of fans), Epic Games announced another collaboration with Fast and Furious in 2021, which was to be launched just before the American release of the ninth film in the franchise. The pack finally appeared in June and could be purchased in the Item Shop until December, when it was officially retired. However, players once again let the developer know that Fast and Furious items were among their favorites, so the DLC bundle was temporarily reinstated for a week later at the end of 2022, so that everyone could get their hands on it.

The newer Fast and Furious package included 3 cars and corresponding cosmetic items. The whole package cost 2,400 Credits, but the vehicles could also be purchased individually for 1,000 Credits.

The 3 cars were:

  • Fast & Furious Pontiac Fiero
  • Fast & Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R R34
  • Fast & Furious Dodge Charger R/T

As for other items included in the package, there were, for example, accessories for the Pontiac:

  • Fast & Furious Pontiac Fiero Wheels
  • Fast & Furious Pontiac Fiero (Black Painted) Wheels
  • Flames Decal
  • Stripes Decal
  • Circuit Pro Decal
  • Wings Decal
  • Lightning Decal
  • Reel Life Decal

And for the Dodge Charger:

  • Fast & Furious Dodge Charger Wheels
  • Fast & Furious Dodge Charger (Black Painted) Wheels
  • Alameda Twin Decal
  • Flames Decal
  • Good Graces Decal
  • Rally Decal
  • Sinclair Decal
  • Wheelman Decal
  • Reel Life Decal

As well as for the Nissan Skyline:

  • Fast & Furious Nissan Skyline Wheels
  • Fast & Furious Nissan Skyline (Black Painted) Wheels
  • 2Bold Decal
  • 2Cool Decal
  • 2Tuff Decal
  • Clean Cut Decal
  • Home Stretch Decal
  • The Clutch Decal
  • Reel Life Decal

Can You Still Get the Rocket League Fast and Furious DLC Bundle?

As with other partnerships that Epic Games has made throughout Rocket League’s history, the Fast and Furious packs were both time-limited. This means that once they are pulled from the Item Shop, they cannot be purchased. However, as we’ve witnessed once before, it’s possible that the developer will decide to bring them back in the form of some kind of special offer, as it did at the end of 2022. So don’t be sad, because who knows, you might still be able to get your hands on one of the legendary Fast and Furious battle cars!

Conclusions

Fast & Furious is a great franchise, while Rocket League is an amazing game. Combining the two was a true gamer’s dream come true, which is why the DLC packs were some of the most popular releases in RL’s history. Hopefully, fans will be able to see more collaborations coming from Epic Games in the future!
