How to Get a Mustang in Rocket League?
Rocket League is full of amazing cars, including many classics like the iconic Aston Martin or a Lamborghini. However, for years many players had thought that one particular vehicle was missing from the game. An old American classic that has been a staple of many garages for almost 60 years at this point, and that is, of course, the Ford Mustang.
Luckily, Epic Games is known for fulfilling the dreams of its users, which is why today we’re gonna talk about whether one can buy a Rocket League Mustang.
Why Is the Ford Mustang So Iconic?
Ford is a car manufacturer known to virtually every person, as it is also a pioneer in the automotive arena. Henry Ford, or the brand’s founder, is the father of modern automobiles, and his decision to open the Ford Motor Company in 1903 changed not only the face of Detroit, Michigan, but also all of America. Today, it is a multinational corporation that ranks second in the US, and sixth in the world, in terms of car production.
However, among its many successes, by far the one car model that stands out the most is the Ford Mustang.
The Ford Mustang is an ideal car that gives you the look of a sports car in exchange for the price of an average family van (well, almost). Americans immediately fell in love with it, and although initially only 100,000 models were to be produced annually, the company quickly realized that the demand was much greater. In the end, it was one of the most successful launches in the brand’s history with 400,000 sold within 365 days of its initial launch. The sixth generation of Mustangs is now available, with the seventh being just around the corner. The manufacturers gave a small preview of it at the 2022 Detroit Auto Show. In addition, a sister model of this iconic car is being sold, which is the new all-electric Mustang Mach-E.
Ford Mustang in Rocket League
With Mustang’s significance in the automotive market, it was only a matter of time before Rocket League, the legendary car game, joined forces with the brand. After all, by now there have already been collaborations with manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Lamborghini, and McLaren. Hence, there was no way Epic Games would not make sure to add the Ford Mustang to its inventory.
And so in 2021, the brand announced that it had created two bundles together with the American automaker, which will come to the Item Shop. This was, among other things, due to the fact that Ford became the official sponsor of the Rocket League Championship Series Fall Major in 2021. In addition, the brand also sponsored the second iteration of the Ford + Rocket League Freestyle Invitational, which was scheduled to take place in December, right after the official competition. Admittedly, the Ford Mustang had already appeared before in Rocket League as part of a special bundle made in cooperation with NASCAR, but this time it was the real deal.
As for item bundles, Rocket League has decided to welcome two cars to its garage, representing two different faces of the brand, namely:
- Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R
- Ford Mustang Mach-E
One is the absolute classic that started it all, while the other is the newest, and all-electric, version of this iconic model. The two car bodies were included in two bundles that cost 1,100 credits and contained other limited-edition items.

The contents of the Mustang Mach-E bundle were:

- 98 Decal

- Mustang Mach-E Player Banner

Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R RLE Bundle
As for the contents of the Mustang Shelby bundle, these were:
- Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R RLE (Dominus Hitbox)
- Ford Performance Decal
- 98 Decal
- Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R RLE Wheels
- 98 Player Banner
- Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R RLE Engine Audio
Both bundles were available in the Item Shop until December 21, 2021. Players could also buy them together for the favorable price of 2,000 credits. What’s more, cars from this collaboration could also be combined with items other than those associated with the Ford brand.

Can You Still Buy the Ford Mustang in Rocket League?
Unfortunately, the Ford Mustangs were the result of a special collaboration and thus were only available in the Item Shop for a limited time. In addition, they cannot be traded, so getting them at third-party sites is virtually impossible. However, it is worth noting that in 2022 both bundles returned to the Item Shop for a limited period of time, so there is a good chance that they will soon be available for purchase again.
Moreover, given that Ford has announced a seventh-generation Mustang, we can expect more partnerships between this legendary manufacturer and Rocket League.
